“True freedom is the capacity for acting according to one s true character, to be altogether one s self, to be self-determined and not subject to outside coercion.” Corliss LamontActivRehab represents a new way of supporting people who have a brain injury to live their lives. ActivRehab does not formulate support in terms of case management, using instead a rehabilitation model that promotes independence and self-determination. Advanced Practitioners are supervised and guided by Consultant brain injury clinicians from different disciplines. Direct client support is provided by the highest calibre Personal Assistants who are fully trained and supervised by Consultant clinicians and Advanced Practitioners.

Brain Injury RehabilitationOur company is owned and run by a Consultant Neuropsychiatrist, Consultant Neuropsychologist and Consultant Rehabilitation Nurse who between them have over 55 years experience in the delivery of services to brain injured people. ActivRehab has established a radically different model to provide rehabilitation using the knowledge and experience of the core Consultants. The service provided turns discourse about capacity, rights, choice and freedom into an active person-centred service that provides the client with the necessary support to live their life. Our aim is to interfere, to intrude and to restrict as little as possible. This shifts the focus from quantity and risk management to quality and designing a capable environment that sustains a meaningful life.

Designing and maintaining capable environments that meet the needs of people with brain injury requires a capable Organisation and an interdisciplinary team sharing common core values.

Embracing the Mental Capacity Act, Human Rights Act and the World Health Organisation s definition of Rehabilitation , ActivRehab can now offer a fully managed, Consultant-led and supervised service which places the client at the centre of how they want to live their lives to the full despite their disabilities.

Our commissioners are Primary Care Trusts, Local Authorities, Insurers, Solicitors and Deputies representing clients who have a brain injury and who require support to live their lives.
